Dear Valued Reader,
Well, well, well. Who would have thought little old DCMontreal would run … okay, crawl and walk sometimes, to a thousand posts. Certainly not me. But here we are marking this momentous occasion, the millennium – at least this time we have no worries about computers exploding like Y2K.
When I started posting to this blog I had no idea where it was going. Frankly, I still don’t. I’ve flown in the face of conventional blogging wisdom and shunned a narrow writing niche because there are so many diverse topics I find interesting and about which I have something to say – a lot of stuff goes on in this fertile little mind of mine.
I recently rejigged my home page to a static one, and divided my posts into two main categories: DCMontreal Commentary where you can find posts that are focused on more serious topics, and DCMontreal Light where an often jocular approach to things can be found. There is a whole lot of overlap currently, but that’s something I can work on during the long, cold Montreal winter.
Over the course of the 1000 posts I’ve given voice to urban wildlife and poked fun at advertising. I’ve taken many trips down Memory Lane, and posted some neat art. I was linked to by CNN and published in a few newspapers.
Hopefully I’ve got another 1000 posts in me, and I hope you’ll drop by from time to time just to keep me honest!
Cheers and thanks,
DCMontreal
P.S. The Daily Post topic today is:You’re sitting at a café when a stranger approaches you. This person asks what your name is, and, for some reason, you reply. The stranger nods, “I’ve been looking for you.” What happens next? Why I invite them to the party of course!
Congrats on reaching 1000 posts. That’s awesome!
Thanks very much Heidi!
That is fantastic-loved every one!!
Thank you!
