Montreal lifts boil water advisory; water pipe problem still better than crack pipe mess

After 24 hours under a boil water advisory Montreal’s tap water is once again safe to drink. Mayors and City councils  tend to take a lot of flak; from potholes and cracks in streets to actually smoking crack (see Toronto Mayor Rob Ford – at least the only pipes our mayor gets criticized for are the ones bursting on a regular basis). However the recent water filtration scare was evidently well handled by Mayor Michael Appelbaum and his staff. No panic, but caution.
