With the death of Jonathan Winters, the world is a less funny place today. However, his influence on many of today’s comic minds will ensure his presence is felt for years to come.

One of those who looked to Winters for inspiration is Robin Williams.

“First he was my idol, then he was my mentor and amazing friend,” tweeted Williams. “I’ll miss him huge. He was my Comedy Buddha. Long live the Buddha.”

Dick Van Dyke was also moved by Winters
