Topless Vatican protest; security keeps abreast of the situation

Vatican security guards had their hands full … literally, when four women representing a group called FEMEN (before clicking please “bare” in mind this group’s modus opernadi is to expose their breasts) removed their tops in St. Peter’s Square as the Pope was addressing the crowd. They were protesting  the Vatican’s position on homosexuality by displaying “In Gay We Trust”, a slogan of the movement painted on their chests and backs.

Video of the incident shows that it seems to have taken an inordinately long time for all those (male) security guards, who got help from several attendees, to get the women away from the crowd. It was very considerate of the guards to grasp the women’s breasts, no doubt in an attempt to help them regain some respectability. All in the line of duty.
