Australian wild fires might make you think twice about a long Montreal winter

So you like summer better than winter do you? Maybe this will give you some food for thought! On the left is a photo taken outside Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal during a recent one-day record-setting snowstorm. On the right is a shot of Tammy Holmes and grandchildren Charlotte, Esther, Liam, Matilda and Caleb as they take refuge under a jetty as a wildfire rages nearby in the Tasmanian town of Dunalley

Both of these pictures show women caring for children in bad weather conditions – clearly the Australian situation is significantly more dire than a Montreal snowstorm, even a record setter. But if you ask me, I’ll take my chances with the snow and give the wild fires a miss.

Best of luck to all affected by the extreme heat and fires throughout Australia.
