For some families the post-Christmas dinner tradition consists of story telling, perhaps a few jokes and a glass or two. Not my family! Soaking raisins in brandy, setting them ablaze and watching an apparent adult eat them is more our style.
My Grandfather was the first, and only other person I ever saw eating the Christmas Flaming Raisins. Having survived the trenches of World War One I guess he figured a few singed fingertips were no big deal! Somehow, stupidity mostly I fear, this tradition has skipped a generation but has been handed-down to me. So here it is, the Christmas Flaming Raisins for 2012!

I am joining you next Christmas – at least for the Flaming Christmas Raisins!

A reblog of a family Christmas tradition. Does anyone else have a weird annual activity?
